Day 6 of the world tour took us to the Memphis Zoo.
The predicted rainfall, thankfully, was limited to just a sprinkle here and there. We got to see the pandas on exhibit — but they were asleep. Heat must’ve got to them.
At the Zoo’s aquarium, we found a orange-red fish that looked so much like Nemo from the movie Finding Nemo. Alas, no sign of the king of rock ‘n’ roll. We may have to look harder next time we’re in Memphis.
Some of the souvenirs we took home include some pennies customized with the Memphis Zoo logo and a t-shirt Cindy got me with frogs acting out “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” with the Memphis Zoo logo.
This should be the last entry from the road. I know we won’t have ‘net access while visiting my grandmother in Alabama and we won’t have a computer in the place we’re staying on the coast next week. It’s been a great world tour — getting to know Cindy all the more and meeting each others’ relatives.
