It’s Almost Hard To Imagine…

…that I nearly gave it all up on, of all days, Valentine’s Day of last year. I can still remember how terrible it was. As I was still trying to rebound from a break-up about two months prior, four co-workers talked about engagements. If they represented four weddings, I represented the funeral.

Since then, I’ve been through months of “therapy”. Then, out of the blue comes Cindy late last summer. This Friday, we plan to return to “the scene of the crime” — O’Charley’s, the first place we met for lunch.

Cindy and I have concluded we’re blessings to each other’s lives. And we’ve had help in making this happen. Her friend, Colette, told Cindy about AmericanSingles.com — where I had an ad that went unanswered for about TWO YEARS! (Hey, I guess good things come to those who wait.) As for me, close friends have kept hope alive for me — even when I thought hope was lost.

Where do we go from here? As Asia once noted in song, “Only time will tell.”

To those without someone to celebrate with on Valentine’s, hang in there. Your time will come — when you least expect it.

  1. Happy Valentine’s day to you and Cindy. I wish Mom and I were closer to Hattiesburg. But we are close to your website. I check it every day.
