A former waitress at a Hooters in Panama City Beach, Florida, has settled a lawsuit.
Jodee Berry thought she had won a new Toyota car last year in a Hooters beer-sales contest. Instead she was given a new “toy Yoda” doll from the Star Wars movie.
Terms of the settlement aren’t being disclosed, but Berry’s lawyer says the money will be enough to let her buy a real Toyota. Berry quit the restaurant a week after the contest and filed suit, alleging breach of contract and fraudulent misrepresentation.
The restaurant’s manager says the contest was intended as an April Fools’ Day joke.
