Yeah, I'm disappointed that he didn't stay retired. I thought he was back after last season, but when he decided to retire, I figured that he'd had enough. :sigh:

I take it you found us through a Google search -- which is fine. I Googled "Alexandra Sklansky" one day, found her Vimeo profile and just sensed her elevator doesn't go all the way to the top.

Hi, Kelli. Senator Lott as chancellor at Ole Miss makes sense (Robert Khayat has plans to retire). No matter what he does, he'll be a success.

As for Coach Bower, I just sense the powers that be were hungry for bigger and better things, they're hungry now and they felt they weren't getting anything from Coach Bower. In talking about him with my dad earlier, I noted there were some things out of Coach Bower's control this season -- most notably injuries at QB and an assistant coach, Jay Hopson, who's battling cancer.

I feel as if the door on the decade that I was raised in is coming to a close.I feel as if maybe Trent Lott may be tired of his voice not being heard. He is a strong leader and role model for mississippi. I hope he is offered the job AS Chancelor at ole Miss.He could really make positive changes there.
Bower is a is a leader not a follower and I think that possibly he may of left because he didnt follow directions the way they wanted him too.

Both events truly surprised me. The Lott thing smells fishy; it's not like Pickering is in a fight for his seat this time, right? [Barbour making Pickering the replacement feels like the easiest bet out there.]

The Bower thing was weird. I'd really love to know whether he was pushed out or not.

Doug,

I came across your blog by chance as I was looking to see if there was a website for Walnut Grove cemetery. But I am glad I found some of your reflections and thoughts over these past few months. It was good to read more about Cindy and learn what a gift she was to so many others. I still think of you and Cindy's family and pray for God's peace and grace to come to you each day.
